Way Down Under

How often do we claim about our faith reclaimed
And out there we proclaim our Shepherd and His cane
We show it with our shirts, say "Grow in faith and works."
And read at least a verse to heed all of His words

Nice stand out there my brothers, but somehow I am bothered
With few thoughts I have numbered for you also to ponder

If Christ is our need, and none else will we choose
Why do we strive to budget just to get new gadgets or shoes?
If He is our guide in our lives with what He wrote with His signature
Why do we listen to advices outside that don't even quote the Scriptures?

And I know that we're given a sense to be hygienic and neat
But we take up too much make up and be evangelically weak
You know you can't hide your sins inside
You may look good with man's eyes, but a fool in God's sight

To you who pray "Lord, You sustain coz You're God.
I need a raise." or "I can't live without my job."
You better taste torture, or bring out the Word of God
In verses 3-4, chapter 21 of John

The Master's Men, experts in being fishermen
Caught nothing from the night till dawn, not even a dish for them
Until Jesus said, "Cast the net to the right side of the boat."
Thus God provides, and not our might, a bite or slice of loaf

We claim to be God's living sacrifice
Find ways to make Him be glorified
But ever thought of being axed for Christ
To make our brothers' faith be fortified?

To preach is indeed harder, then hand our lives to sinners
But each of us believers should plan to be a martyr

The problem why the Gospel is not heard, I cry
Is not them, not the world, but it's us. Do you know why?
We touch these earthly things and clutch them with our fists
Our grudged mistake here is living way down under

Way down under, way down under
We're way too bound with things that fade asunder
Way down under, way down under
Please stay around while I state our blunder

We crave about what make our mouths hunger
Replacing the crown our faith has found yonder
With days on this ground, degrading our Master
WASTING LIFE OUT, living way down under
