The first parts of this composition involves Paul writing to the Philippian Church. And I tried to focus on chapter 4 verse 30 along with its surrounding verses. Thus, it's more confusing that my previous compositions.
Brethren, I am glad
That if you will get the chance
You'll share anything you have
And till now it didn't last
For although I am in prison
In providing me, you're risking
Your own lives, and thus a lesson
For me so to God I'm rejoicing
Though your faces I've not seen
Nor the rations I've received
This I mastered now indeed:
Be contented when in need
Both in hungry times of famine
And in fullest times of plenty
I can want no bread from heaven
Through Christ Jesus who strengthens me
Both in bounteous side of wealth
And in debt by poverty
I can want no money's help
Through Christ Jesus who strengthens me
I like our partnership, believe
We both love to give, then we receive
Yet it's not that your gifts I seek
But the fruits in you increased
Though it will not reach my eyes
I got a gift from you, no lies!
To God, you're pleasing sacrifice
I pray that this news He'll supply
For though in times of pain and curse
And in times of luxury
I can want no ease of work
Through Christ Jesus who strengthens me
Though I'll own ten royal robes
Or can't but even a sheet
I can want no brand new clothes
Through Christ Jesus who strengthens me
This verse is misapplied today
Thus, more often it is stained
Though I'm frail I'm here to pray
That it makes you want to say
If I'll be a gadget boy
Having lots of techie toys
I can give them all, you see,
Through Jesus Christ who strengthens me
In an object bought with money
Fully also with energy
I can give it all for free
Through Jesus Christ who strengthens me
Though there's someone from way out
God is molding just for me
I can want not for a spouse
Through Jesus Christ who strengthens me
Though people tend to kick me out
In God's message they reject me
I can want no friends, I shout
Through Jesus Christ who strengthens me
Though from loved ones I'm away
For more years and for a day
I can cope with all the pain
Through Jesus Christ who strengthens me
Though in storm, drought, shine, or rain
As long as my works' not in vain
I can preach in this cold jail
Through Jesus Christ who strengthens me
Satisfied only through Him
That's what Paul wanted to bring
"I can do all things through Him;
Through Jesus Christ who strengthens me"
