Misrepresented Gospel

I was supposed to tackle about God, men, and sin. Instead, I came into the thought of the ways that I believe Gospel was misrepresented, and try to refute them. I am admitting that my interpretations of the scriptures aren't always right, and most even came from influences. Still I want to make a point that the absolute truth is out there and that Christians are supposed to defend for it.

I have heard half-truths
Which means they're turned to lies
Concerning Him who's bruised
Who, for men's sins, died

They have said, "Believe
Or fall into the mire;
Cling to Christ or grieve
Into the lake of fire"

But to complete I'll state:
"Hell is God's creation
Where all the reprobates
Face eternal damnation."

And this I will tell
About eternity
Surely sin, not Hell,
Is the real enemy

Likewise God, not heaven
Is my greatest treasure
My closest and best friend
My very source of pleasure

So I say believe
Repent of all your sins
That caused God to grieve
And dishonors Him

Another says, "You cling
Repent and then believe
And all of your wished things
Surely you'll receive

Graduation, cars,
A partner for your life
And He will give you more
Than what is seen by eyes"

"Could be." I will reply
But then will ask them "Why?
When I am saved would I
Pray with earth-bound desires?

Or can I say to God
Because I have believed,
'Give me all my wants,
For you promised to give!'

But I know God supplies
Everything I need
If through hunger I'll die
My portion He'd still be."

And one man says "To have
The right motivation
You're required to have
Christ as your salvation

He can call the strength
You have from within
You can do it, friend,
Just hear the call from Him.

He finds you so special
That's why He chose you
To be in His eternal
Place prepared for you."

But I won't dare to buy
This thing called "self-esteem"
For I fully rely
On Christ's power to redeem

Instead of making me
See the strength in me
God will make me see
There is no strength in me

For in God's holy eyes
I'm of no special worth
I can't claim I'm wise
I am less than the dirt

Thus, God chose to save souls
For them to realize
That they should be the most
Eager to glorify

These are but a few
Devices of the wise
Who think they'll twist the truth
Shrink Christ down to a size

You might say "That is true
For you but not for me."
But where, friend, is the Truth
That should set our souls free?

If we would not discern
The lies that bend the truth
We're saying Satan worked
And we are all his fruit

So as a frontliner
Who came to meditate
Encouraging some brothers
To contend for the faith

So let's present the Gospel
In God's truthful way
Lest we're not God's temple
Tempting sheep astray

Let's gladly meet our doom
On our dying day
Or fear we'll be consumed
On the Judgment Day
