From newbie elders to expert preachers
Brining life to our founder's picture
In your attempt in giving us leverage
To ground our feet and keep it set
I'm seeing sings that the Wesleyan heritage
Is slowly, surely, facing death
You may claim, but I have doubt
That you have the legacy of Wesley
For your failure to pass down
Even the UMYF medley
Why do you get disappointed
When none respond to the Altar Call
Expecting proteges from an audience
You seem to have not mentored at all?
You may say, "Well, that's the stem."
Then how do we know you're sharing our roots?
Then how do we know you're sharing our roots?
The men before you held much gems
I somehow envy your days of youth
Strengthen our faith that the Methodist tradition
Has maintained a biblical Christ-like imitation
Because if we stay in this confused situation
We're likely to raise a poisoned generation
.... or maybe the damage has come to fruition
