God Who Can't Be Fathomed (Parody of "Puff the Magic Dragon" by Peter, Paul, and Mary)

 God, Who can't be fathomed
In the Bible, see
He chose to live within our midst
It was planned by Trinity

Light was He forever
Word was, Himself, God
And out of Him came really fast
All other living stuff

Oh, God, Who can't be fathomed
Came to be seen
Can't be contained but went to fit
In a virgin's womb, and be

Born, a son of Adam
Yet without sin
From Bethlehem to Nazareth
Then a land called Galilee

For years on He would travel
With a bunch of men so frail
But He kept them throughout
Preaching; God's salvation came

All the faith-filled sinners
Would bow whenev'r He came
Righteous chaps were lowered in ranks
When they're called out in shame

Oh, God Who can't be fathomed
Came so we'll see
The depth of sin; for what it is
While revealed hypocrisy

Called the one's He's chosen
Gave life, and healed
And He let Legion into pigs
That came rushing to the sea

His mission's not yet over
His men were scattered boys
Traitor's kiss and Peter risked
His face to rooster's voice

Unfair trial, they threatened
The Life-giver be no more
And Pontius Pilate let them
Release who'd kill us more

His head was bent with sorrows
“Sin-stained”, God's wrath rained
Did no wrong, but then was slain
For all our sin and shame

Sealed inside His bed
Guards around His grave
So God, with mighty rockin'
Raised Him right out from His cave

Oh, God, Who can't be fathomed
Died on the tree
But conquered sin, and sting of death
By His hand we'll, too, be free

Come, and have your pardon
In Christ, believe
And through His name we get to live
In His Hand eternally
